History, conditions & layout
History
A rare figure-8, driver-favourite track with deep roots in Japanese motorsport. Iconic esses (S curves) and late-braking zones provide a long lap that rewards flow and car balance over one-lap time.
Typical conditions
Autumn in central Honshu: warm but not desert-hot; rain can be heavy if a typhoon remnant is nearby. Track evolution and rubber often improve grip through the weekend in dry running.
Track layout & design
A rollercoaster: fast direction changes, camber, and a mix of low-, medium-, and high-speed turns. A strong test of aero and chassis; qualifying gaps here are highly respected in the paddock.
