History, conditions & layout

History

Montmeló (Barcelona–Catalunya) has been F1’s default winter test and Spanish GP home for decades. Teams know every kerb: it is a reference track for aero, tyre, and set-up work across the year.

Typical conditions

Inland Mediterranean: often hot and dry in late spring, with gusty conditions that affect balance. Tarmac evolution and tyre behaviour from Friday to Sunday are a classic set-up story.

Track layout & design

A wide, technical, medium-to-high speed lap with a famous long right-hander in sector 3. Historically a car test: front-limited in places, rear-limited in others; a broad vehicle dynamic challenge.
