History, conditions & layout

History

A hybrid of a very long bumpy straight through the old city, tight castle section, and flat-out zones along the Caspian. Baku is famous for long flat-out, safety-car risk, and race-changing incidents.

Typical conditions

Often warm and clear; a stiff sea breeze. Street grip evolves slowly; winds along the long straight can hurt braking stability and aero. Dust can appear off-line.

Track layout & design

High-speed, high-risk mix: 90-degree city corners, a narrow, twisty “castle” kink, and a kilometre-style straight. Traction, braking, and “survive the lap” are all in play.
