History, conditions & layout

History

A Hermann Tilke-era venue that became China’s F1 home, with a long back straight and technical middle sector. The layout has been refined over the years, including a sprint format on some years.

Typical conditions

Spring: variable—cool, misty, or warm; smog and humidity can play a role. Tyre and surface evolution across sessions is typical; rain has produced memorable mixed races in the past.

Track layout & design

A blend of one very long power straight and tighter, more technical infield. Stop-start in places, medium-speed elsewhere; a balance test between traction and aero for the infield sequence.
